Lingering Letters {prayer}
This week's lingering letters are all about prayer. They are different, both from each other and from what is sometimes written about prayer. Still, they are similar too and I'll let you make those connections as you weave your way through them.
Enjoy, friends.

Little Did She Know...
The most popular post this week was actually from last week: When I Was on Fire, about growing up evangelical and lonely.
The second most popular post was one from this week: The Vulnerability of Asking, which was a follow-up to that post in some ways.
I also wrote about idolatry in my life in The Picture vs. The Thing and creation, linking up with SheLoves Magazine in The Drama of Dust.

Living the Christian Year by Bobby Gross is one of those books I read, in the first place, because Lauren Winner endorsed it. It is close by my bed now, one of my favorites. It's a book about the church year, and talks about why we study what we do at different times of year (in the lectionary). It helped me to embrace the wonder in a new way. Shortly after this book was given to me, I started going to a wonderful Episcopal church where my love of liturgy only deepened. More than anything, this book promoted prayer. I hope that you'll let it take you through the year, and then start all over again.

I want you to know that I pray for you, my readers, some of you by name. Such an amazing thing this way in which we connect.
I’d love to know: what are you reading? (in print or online?) Where are you being challenged, what is bringing you delight?
Thank you for being here, friends. I love the community being built in this space.
