Lingering Letters {poetry}
I fell in love with poetry in college, as I wrestled with writing it myself. I have the privilege of knowing some wonderful poets, people whose words lift me to a higher plane and make me think about ordinary things differently.

Little Did She Know...
My most popular post this week was Words Meant For Me, about the people who communicate wonderful messages meant only for me.

The first poet that I enjoyed reading was, perhaps predictably, Billy Collins. I checked out his book, Sailing Alone Around the Room from the library and found a poem to memorize for a class. It was the first time (but not the last!) that I'd found poetry to be relatable. It connected with where and who I was. I will never forget how I felt reading this book, as if the world was new and beautiful. If you're unfamiliar with Billy Collins, this is a wonderful place to start.
